Stop Snitchin' Shirt Makers 'Start Peace'

(CBS4) BOSTON The makers of the controversial “Stop Snitchin” shirts are
launching a new line of “socially responsible” t-shirts promoting peace.
Antonio Ansaldi unveiled their “Start Peace” t-shirt Saturday. The shirts are
in response to recent criticism of the company’s “Stop Snitchin” shirts.
Last month, in an agreement with Boston Mayor Tom Menino, Antonio Ansaldi
stopped selling the snitch shirts. Now they hope their Peace shirts will set an
example for other local stores carrying violent t-shirts.
"We're trying to make peace contagious and fashionable at the same time,” says
owner Antonio Ennis.
Half the profits from the “Start Peace” shirts will go to the Louis D. Brown Peace
Institute's Survivors of Homicide fund.
While Antonio Ansaldi no longer sells the Stop Snitchin shirts, other companies
carry similar lines.
Last week, state court judge Robert Mulligan, banned Stop Snitchin clothing in
all Massachusetts state courtrooms. Some say the shirts promote witness
intimidation.

I did an additional Verizon Search and came up with alternatives to The
Boston Globe article that I posted earlier. I didn't like that I couldn't post
the article link, or that they encouraged subscribing to them in order to
view news articles or archives. I believe in the free access of the news.
It made me a bit nervous to post their article. "Hiphopculture.org" seems
to be an interesting blog site-cool music as well.
